Family, friends react after Bells traffic tragedy
BELLS, Texas (KTEN) — One person was killed and an infant child was seriously injured after a crash in Bells on Wednesday night.
Angela Woodson was traveling with her infant grandson in the back seat. She was waiting to make a left turn onto Denison Street from US 69 around 10 o'clock when a northbound pickup truck rear-ended her vehicle, pushing it into oncoming southbound traffic.
That's when a tractor-trailer hit Woodson's vehicle.
She died at the scene and her three-month-old grandson was hospitalized.
Collin Woodson was at home, about a block away, when his mother's vehicle was hit.
"It was gnarly, the wreck was," he said. "I think I still might be under shock of some sort, but I am managing... I'm doing okay."
Angela Woodson's husband, Ashley Woodson, posted on social media overnight.
"I am going to miss my wife so much," he wrote. "It was literally a blink of an eye. Our grandson was in the car, too. Thank God he is alive and vitals are stable."
Woodson also shared a photo of his grandson, saying he was on a ventilator and that doctors are keeping him sedated with medication.
The other drivers involved in the crash were not injured. Police said a preliminary investigation found no signs of impairment and that there have been no arrests.
