SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — A deadly crash shut down traffic along the southbound US 75 service road in Sherman on Wednesday.

The call for help went out just after 11 a.m. after a stalled vehicle was rear-ended by a truck not far from the Kaiser Aluminum plant.

The person in the car, identified by Sherman police as 70-year-old Sylvia Adams of Wichita Falls, did not have a pulse when paramedics arrived. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police said the driver of the other vehicle was injured but will survive.

The department's Critical Accident Investment Team is leading the investigation.

The service road reopened to traffic just before 1:30 p.m.
