DURANT, Okla. (KTEN) — Attention veterans: The Choctaw Nation Headquarters will be holding a PACT Act event on Wednesday.

The event is in partnership with Veterans Affairs. The law, enacted in March, expands health care to military personnel who were exposed to toxic substances, burn pits, and agent orange.

"This not only helps the community, but I think with the Choctaw Nation name on it, the tribal veterans are more likely to come to these types of events as well," said Veterans Advocacy Department senior program manager Harlan Wright.

Veterans are welcome to file a claim from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Choctaw Nation Headquarters, 1802 Chukka Hina, in Durant.
