GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas (KTEN) — Authorities on Friday released the name of the boy who died when a fishing boat capsized at Lake Texoma on Wednesday night.

Five-year-old Jasper McKinney was trapped underneath the 19-foot vessel after a storm packing winds up to 75 mph swept across the lake and flipped the boat and seven others who were aboard.

"He's just going to be truly missed; he was just five years old but his life impacted so many people," said Megan Barnes, Jasper's aunt.

No one else on the boat was seriously injured.

A GoFundMe page has been established by family members to help cover Jasper's funeral expenses.
