SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Drivers coming through Sherman before the 4th of July can expect some overnight traffic delays next week due to ongoing construction along US 75.

Northbound lanes of the freeway will be shifting from the original pavement to newly-built lanes between Washington Street and Taylor Street between 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. next Monday and Tuesday, July 1 and 2.

"Construction is what it is — it's the price we pay for progress," said local motorist Doug Ferman. "Sherman definitely needs some road work done and with the new 75. There's still a lot that needs to be done."

When complete, motorists will have access to three northbound and three southbound lanes through Sherman on US 75.
